In many underprivileged communities, young girls grow up with limited opportunities and very few platforms to express their talent and confidence. Sports — which should be a universal language of teamwork, health, and empowerment — often remain out of reach for them.
To change this reality, Sewa Sarwada has taken a bold step by encouraging and supporting girls from slum areas to enter the world of sports, starting with cricket.
Cricket, one of the most loved sports in India, has now become a medium of transformation for these girls. Through coaching camps, practice sessions, and participation in local tournaments, Sewa Sarwada is creating a space where girls can dream beyond their circumstances.
The goals of this initiative are clear:
•To build self-confidence and discipline through sports.
•To provide equal opportunities for girls to explore their potential.
•To promote teamwork, leadership, and healthy living.
•To ensure that talent from underprivileged backgrounds is recognized and nurtured.
For many of these girls, holding a cricket bat for the first time is not just about playing a game — it is about breaking barriers, discovering their strength, and realizing that their future can be bigger than their challenges.
Sewa Sarwada also encourages participation in various other sports, helping these young athletes compete in different events and build a sense of pride and achievement. Parents and community members are gradually coming forward to support their daughters, seeing the positive changes sports bring into their lives.
This initiative is proof that with the right guidance and support, girls from slum areas can step into the sports arena, stand tall, and create a future full of possibilities.
