Arrival of the Community Reading Center: A New Chapter for Slum Children

In an inspiring move to bring education closer to those who need it most, Sewa Sarwada has launched a Community Reading Center in the heart of the slum areas. The initiative aims to encourage children to study, develop a habit of reading, and take their first step toward formal education.

In many under-resourced communities, children lack access to basic learning materials, quiet study spaces, and guidance. Often, their days are spent helping with household chores or supporting their families, leaving little time or opportunity for education. Understanding this gap, Sewa Sarwada created a space where learning is accessible, enjoyable, and community-driven.

The Reading Center is stocked with age-appropriate books, learning materials, and interactive activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity in young minds. Trained volunteers and educators offer guidance, helping children read, understand, and grow academically in a supportive environment.

The arrival of the Community Reading Center marks not just the beginning of a program, but the beginning of hope, opportunity, and transformation in the lives of slum children.

Sewa Sarvada, founded by Khushal Dhak, is a transformative initiative
aimed at empowering underprivileged communities in Nagpur, India.
